Course Description
This course includes a day and a half of information provided on the anatomy, surgical procedures and rehabilitation of the upper extremity. The presentation included this year will focus on the physician’s perspective on the surgical management of the wrist and elbow with therapists providing presentations on rehabilitation and clinical management of conditions affecting the wrist and elbow.
Objectives
• Provide opportunity to discuss and gain knowledge on the latest surgical procedures of the wrist and elbow and its rehabilitation.
• Observe an anatomical dissection and provide participants with a detailed description and explanation of the biomechanics and anatomy of the upper extremity.
• Improve knowledge of current protocols and treatment techniques for upper extremity conditions and injuries.
• Provides opportunity for hands-on fabrication of a variety of splints for manage wrist instability.
• Provide information on proper documentation and current changes with coding and reimbursement from various payor sources.
• Provide an opportunity to develop a collaborative network among therapists and create a culture for therapists to grow clinically, academically and professionally.
